UGC - Higher Education for Persons with Special Needs Programme has been started with a fund of Rs. 3,00,000 released by the UGC for the welfare of Blind students of our college. At Present, under the able guidance and support of our Principal this programme is very effectively functioning. This programme has Dr. Mrs. J. Stella, (Assistant Professor, Department of Historical Studies) as Coordinator and Miss. Rajeswari, (Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil) as the Assistant of this programme.

Around 35 students from the Departments of Historical Studies, English and Tamil both from Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses are benefited by this programme.

Laptops have been gifted by UDIS Forum, Coimbatore, and with the financial assistance of UGC, our college has installed five computers and one printer for the benefit of visually challenged students. With the help of NSS volunteers audio lessons prepared and given to the needy persons. Most of the students can independently operate the computers. At present in order to integrate the visually challenged into the modern electronic technology for their studies, recently, our college has started to prepare audio recording and has converted the content into CD format with the assistance of NSS Volunteers.
