New technologies are increasingly present in classrooms as they facilitate the teacher’s role in creating a more attractive learning environment for the student. Language labs allow students to practice the language with a much wider variety of activities and exercises based on the computer.

The Department of English tries to make the learning of English language in a structured way, in the real context and visually attractive manner. Students watch videos, practice their pronunciation, learn new vocabulary, and much more. The lab includes tools for educational tasks such as listening to audio recording, testing their vocabulary , and learning grammar rules etc.,.

The year 2019-20 certain objectives were framed with which language lab would evolve to become much more modern and realistic A separate language lab Time table was prepared and incorporated in the main time table.

Modules for Video screenings are based on the text prescribed for the I year and IInd year general English class students. Video games and exercises were also included as the leaning materials for an enthusiastic learning environment for the students. .

A 30 days certificate course for spoken English classes was conducted for the students from various departments The classes were conducted after college hours from 1.30 to 2.30 every day. 30 students were benefitted by this programme. Mrs Tennyson had been the resource person of the course and the Dr. G.Easwari Prabu being the Head and Dr. S. Lochani being the coordinator of the Programme.
