There is a huge demand for the course which is evident from the fact that nearly 5000 applications are received for the available 210 seats.

• The finance courses are in tune with the established accounting standards. Students gain hands on training in advanced accounting automation using Zoho Books portal provided exclusively for this purpose by Zoho Corporation.
• Courses like e-commerce and Digital Marketing aids in integrating traditional practices with advancements in technology.
• Institutional Training/Internship is a part of the curriculum which enables students to gain exposure to the corporate world.
• Overall, the curriculum ensures holistic development by additionally focusing on sustainability, gender sensitivity, corporate social responsibility, human values and ethics

An MOU was inked with Artech and iLead to enhance the skills of the students in domains like

• Tally
• Communicative English
• Speciality Retail and Logistics

On a regular basis Seminars/Workshops on Entrepreneurship, Direct and Indirect Taxation, Intellectual Property Rights, Company Law, Banking and Career Development are being conducted by inviting experts to keep the students abreast with the dynamic changes. The department strongly believes in healthy and candid interaction with industry experts transforming the future of the students.

Apart from the curriculum, students are encouraged to take up self-paced digital courses through Swayam which benefits them with additional credits. Both faculty and students possess certificates in courses such as Financial/Cost Accounting, Management, Marketing, Taxation, Psychology etc awarded by acclaimed premier institutes of our country.

The department has organised several seminars/workshops on wide-ranging topics such as

Highest percentage of students are placed through placement cell of the college. During the year 2022-2023 the Chief Minister’s NAAN MUDALVAN Scheme in collaboration with Apex Skill Development Corporation, Tamil Nadu has brought add on courses in BFSI and Logistics for the final year students benefitting the students immensely.The Placement Cell in collaboration with Naan Mudhalvan placed 207students successfully. Further, 17 students have been selected for internship through screening test conducted by Deloitte

Our students are well represented in college teams in sports events such as Cricket, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Football, Ball Badminton, Hockey, Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Hand Ball and Silambam. Our students have represented college at International, National, State, University and Inter-College Levels and their impeccable performance has brought laurels to the department.

• In 2018-2019, two students won first place in Judo and Chess at the district and state level.
• In 2019-2020, eight students won first place to eighth place in National/state/district level competitions in Chess, Silambam, Athletics, Karate and Kabaddi.
• In 2021-2022, twenty-two students won first place to third place in National/state/district level competitions in Athletics, Kho-kho, Volley ball, Silambam, Karate and Kabaddi.
• In 2022-2023, nine students won first place to third place in International/National/state level competitions in Silambam, Volley ball, Cestoball and Basket ball

During 2021-2022, 90 students participated in events such as Quiz, Singing, Poster Making, Video Making, Dancing, Mime, Oratorical and Essay Writing competitions held at inter collegiate level. During 2022-2023, 236 students participated in literary events in Tamil and English, Adzap, Essay Writing, Stockathon, Rangoli, Drawing, Collage etc held at inter/intra college levels.
